Founder & Safari Guide
Engida Travel was founded by Mr. Denis Izrael Paulo, a seasoned guide with over a decade of experience leading expeditions across East Africa. Born and raised in the Arusha region of Northern Tanzania, Denis grew up surrounded by nature an upbringing that nurtured his lifelong passion for the wilderness. His deep engagement with the natural world has given him extensive knowledge of Tanzania’s flora and fauna, as well as a profound understanding of the country’s diverse cultures and traditions.
Head Mountain Guide
My name is Jonathan Jacob, a seasoned mountain guide with over 25+ years of experience in the world of mountaineering. With more than 340 successful Kilimanjaro summits under my belt, I bring a deep well of knowledge, endurance, and passion to every climb.
My journey is shaped by a unique blend of skills and life experiences. With a background in veterinary and agricultural sciences, I carry a deep respect for nature and its intricate ecosystems. I’m known for my strong command of the English language, sharp sense of humour, and ability to connect with climbers from around the world, making each expedition both enriching and enjoyable
Mountain Guide
Jambo! My name is Olaqw Sirikwa, and I am an experienced Mountaineering Guide based at Mount Kilimanjaro. With over 5 years of guiding experience, I have had the privilege of leading climbers from all over the world to the summit of Africa’s highest peak.
My background includes a formal education in wildlife management, a certified course in mountain first aid. This combination of skills allows me to offer not only a safe and well-organized trekking experience, but also to share deep insights about the mountain’s ecosystem, flora, and fauna. Among the several routes up Kilimanjaro, my personal favourite is the Machame Route due to its scenic beauty, diverse landscapes, and excellent acclimatization profile.
Safari Guide
Benson has been part of the Tanzania-Experience team since 2016 and is valued by colleagues and guests for his many years of experience and kind character. He fell in love with the idea of being a safari guide on a school trip to Lake Manyara many years ago. Starting off as a mechanic, he soon added safari guiding to his skills set and embarked on his dream career.
Benson shares a fascination and love for big cats with many of his guests, always scouting for lions when on safari. Hiking in the Mount Meru Mountains is another of his favourite activities while out and about with his guests. A family man and nature lover that he is, he makes sure his two children grow up appreciating Tanzania’s wildlife and natural heritage.
