Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Arusha
Your adventure begins as you arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport, where a representative from Engida-Travel will warmly welcome you. You’ll be transferred to your comfortable lodge in Arusha, a bustling gateway to Tanzania’s top safari destinations. Spend the evening unwinding and preparing for the thrilling days ahead.
Day 2: Tarangire National Park – The Land of Giants
After breakfast, depart for Tarangire National Park, known for its ancient baobab trees and large herds of elephants. Enjoy a full day of game drives, where you’ll encounter diverse wildlife, including lions, zebras, and giraffes. In the afternoon, relax at your lodge with stunning views of the park’s landscape.
Day 3: Lake Manyara National Park – Tree-Climbing Lions & Flamingos
Journey to Lake Manyara National Park, a hidden gem famed for its lush forest, thousands of flamingos, and rare tree-climbing lions. Explore the park’s diverse habitats, from groundwater forests to open savannah, before heading to your lodge near the Great Rift Valley for a peaceful overnight stay.
Day 4-6: Serengeti National Park – Endless Plains & The Big Five
Venture into the legendary Serengeti National Park, home to Africa’s most spectacular wildlife. Spend three full days exploring this vast ecosystem, famous for the Great Migration, where millions of wildebeest and zebras cross the plains in search of greener pastures. Your game drives will bring you close to the Big Five—lions, elephants, leopards, rhinos, and buffaloes—while your luxury camp offers breathtaking sunset views over the savannah.
Day 7: Ngorongoro Crater – A Natural Wonder
Descend into the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site teeming with wildlife. This massive caldera offers a high chance of spotting rare black rhinos, along with hippos, cheetahs, and large lion prides. Enjoy a picnic lunch by the scenic hippo pool before returning to your lodge at the crater rim.
Day 8: Cultural Experience in Mto wa Mbu & Transfer to Arusha
On your way back to Arusha, stop at Mto wa Mbu, a vibrant village known for its cultural diversity. Engage with the local community, visit a banana plantation, and taste traditional Tanzanian cuisine. In the evening, return to Arusha for a relaxing night before your Zanzibar adventure.
Day 9: Flight to Zanzibar – Arrival in Stone Town
Catch a morning flight to the idyllic island of Zanzibar, where history and paradise merge. Upon arrival, check in to your boutique hotel in Stone Town, a UNESCO-listed cultural hub. Spend the day exploring its narrow alleys, historic sites, and bustling spice markets.
Day 10: Spice Tour & Prison Island Excursion
Begin your day with a guided spice tour, where you’ll discover the island’s rich history in the global spice trade. Later, take a boat ride to Prison Island, home to giant Aldabra tortoises and a fascinating colonial past. Enjoy snorkeling in crystal-clear waters before returning to Stone Town.
Day 11-12: Beach Relaxation in Nungwi or Kendwa
Transfer to the northern beaches of Nungwi or Kendwa, where powder-white sands and turquoise waters await. Spend two days soaking up the sun, swimming in the warm Indian Ocean, and enjoying optional activities like snorkeling, scuba diving, or a sunset dhow cruise.
Day 13: Departure from Zanzibar
After a leisurely morning by the beach, transfer to Zanzibar International Airport for your departure flight, carrying unforgettable memories of Tanzania’s breathtaking landscapes and wildlife.
